A Friend offered to share some of her art supplies…
paint, brushes…
When I asked her what I could do to say thank you, she asked if I could paint her a painting that was about breathing. She has asthma quite badly so breathing for her is not always as straightforward as it is for me..
I spent quite a bit of time thinking of what breathing would look like and came up with the idea of trees, mountains and sky. After I finished the painting I stood back to look at it and noticed for the first time that a bird had appeared in the clouds.
As I looked and thought about it, I thought about the freedom of a bird flying effortlessly through the air and thought of the Friend and of her breathing becoming as effortless…
