Raven and Goldfish
Barb’s friend who is a teacher (see Barb’s journal) has a fish and bird (mostly heron) theme in his house. He mentioned that he would like a picture with both a fish and a bird in it. Barb had just painted “Adobe” a painting that she really enjoyed doing. She enjoyed it so much that the column of stone on the right curving over the top came along in this painting as well. Barb had a lot of fun doing this painting as well. She gave it a lot of thought before and during the process. Added the yin and yang symbol provided her an opportunity to have the fish in water and the raven in air. The stone column is mostly in the water but also extends into the sky. The mountains are painted to be like fish scales to bring the element of water into the air while the gold in the stone column ties both together and the Raven’s beak entering the water is matched by the Koi’s tail flipping into the air.
